Geoff Levin

Bio:
Multi-award winning songwriter, composer, arranger and musician Geoff Levin has consistently proven himself as a true master with broad appeal and incredible diversity.

Geoff has amassed over 500 original scores and songs for feature and short films, network and cable television shows, documentaries, commercials, trailers, multi-media events and corporate videos. Among these, the animated short, "The Janitor" received an Academy Award nomination.

Television shows that use Geoff’s music have garnered over 600 Emmy nominations and have been awarded over 190 Emmy awards. Films and videos he has scored have also received Tellys, Cindys, New York Film Festival, Tribecca and Sundance awards.

With over 45 feature films to his credit, Geoff also excels in the documentary arena. His credits include music for "Last Mysteries of the Titanic", the ground-breaking James Cameron/Discovery Channel co-production, broadcast live from 2.5 miles beneath the ocean surface; and "The Science of Lance Armstrong", a documentary exploring the phenomenon known as Lance Armstrong, the record-breaking 7-time winner of the Tour de France.

Geoff’s impressive credits also include scoring for cartoons, including 20 episodes of Nickelodeon’s Chalk Zone series and the animated series, Sabrina. He has composed over 150 production music CDs for major companies such as FirstCom and Parry Music Library/Pro Music.

Combining his eclectic style and professional approach, Geoff composes and performs using both keyboards and guitar and is enthusiastic about writing everything from traditional orchestral scores to contemporary electronica. His music has been used in thousands of videos, commercials and audio-visual productions worldwide and can be heard on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, HBO, Cinemax, Turner Broadcasting and a myriad of independent television and radio stations.

Geoff’s songwriting accomplishments include Reason to Live, sung by country music stars Kathy Mattea and Vince Gill, on Kathy’s hit album, "Walk the Way the Wind Blows", and the songs and additional music for the feature films: The Last Shot, Baby Genius II and Bowfinger (starring Eddie Murphy and Steve Martin) and Adam Sandler’s, Little Nicky. Also, additional music for episodic television includes the highly-successful Friends, SNL and The Sopranos.

Hailing from the Bay Area, Geoff has had the honor of sharing the stage with such luminaries as members of the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin and Jefferson Airplane, and touring opposite The Who and Bruce Springsteen. During his tenure with People, the group succeeded in reaching Billboard’s Top 20 with their single, "I Love You".

Later, Geoff joined forces with David Campbell and Geoffrey Lewis to create the still popular performance group, Celestial Navigations. Three of their CDs have charted on Billboard with their 6-week run at the Matrix Theater in Hollywood resulting in a DramaLogue Award.
