Once the model or sculpt of your product has been perfected, you will need to give the manufacturing plant an exact master model, enabling them to see what the final, manufactured product should look like. Choosing just the right colors, finishes, textures and details that aesthetically enhance your product is crucial to creating “shelf appeal” for your customer. Our model painting team is set up to solve the most complex design problems, as well as paint perfect models in volume. What is Model Preparation?
Model Preparation includes model cleanup (the removal of casting lines and complete sanding), as well as priming for final paint.

Can the ASAP Model Painting Team handle large volume projects?
Yes. ASAP has been called upon to paint up to 500 models at one time. We welcome large volume projects, although we may require a few days to properly configure the team for your specific project.

Can the ASAP Model Painting Department match colors using other color systems besides PMS?
Yes. As well as PMS Coated & Uncoated, we can match Toyo, Dic, Trumatch, Focoltone, and Hexachrome Coated & Uncoated.

What references do I need to supply for Special Effects Painting?
Photo references or an actual piece to be matched, along with a detailed written description is the best. Although a detailed, written description will often suffice. Our Model Painting Team will always paint one model and then obtain your feedback and written approval before continuing on with any project.

Doesn’t it cost less to send models overseas to be painted?
Yes, if you have a large volume of models to be painted. We do not specialize in painting models for manufacturing purposes. However, if you have a relatively small run of models that need expert model painting, it would be more cost effective to have the ASAP Model Painting Team do it — particularly if your models are being created in the USA.
